I was supposed to write this yesterday, but I didn’t have time with all the Valentines activities out on town, but February 14th marked ONE full year since I went on terminal leave from the US Navy to start a new life. A year ago today the four of us and dogs headed to Wisconsin with only the hopes of a new job. Since I got hired into the Federal government right when the Trump administration began a hiring freeze this caused me to not have a start date only hopes that everything would work out and let me start before the last paycheck from the navy. We ultimately missed that day by 4 days. Now a year later I have been working for the government while Mackenzie began her birth doula business and it is time to make yet another life change.
With that being said, we have been packing and purging, organizing and throwing, giving and leaving everything we own. Almost 10 years to the day of leaving for boot camp I will be returning home with just a little bit more than I left with, a little bit more love, a little bit more stuff, a little less money, and two little bits that show me joy everyday.
Stay tuned to and we will keep you up to date on our adventures in moving!
